Upgrading ConsoleWorks to version 4.x from versions older than 3.3

Because of database format and content changes, the following MINIMUM requirements exist for upgrading to ConsoleWorks v4.1 or later

(These instructions assume the user has a valid Support and Maintenence agreement in effect)


  • If your current version is 3.3 to 3.7, you may perform a direct upgrade to 4.1 or later
  • If your current version is earlier than v3.3, you must upgrade to 3.7 FIRST

Note: A complete UPGRADE to 3.7 consists of:

1) Backing up your original conwks directory.
2) Installing 3.7 per the instructions in the install guide for your platform (available with the product download).
3) Performing (UNIX) cw_upgrade (OpenVMS) @CONWRKS_DIR:CONWRKS_UPGRADE to update the html library.
4) ***RUNNING*** ConsoleWorks 3.7 to update the configuration database:
a) Logging in
b) Looking around
c) Shutting down ConsoleWorks
